Easy Breezy Cheesy Bread
Danger! Once you make this recipe, you will forever obsess over this cheesy bread, so proceed with caution! It is simple to make and is great when you invite friends over for dinner. Just last week I had a friend calling me for the recipe because he was having friends over for spaghetti. The bread is a fabulous side dish to any pasta or salad recipe, and is especially great dipped in marinara sauce.
Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 large loaf French bread, sliced
1 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
4 tablespoons butter, softened
1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 8 oz. package Monterey Jack shredded cheese
Directions:
1. Slice bread into one inch slices.
2. Combine cream cheese and butter in bowl. Microwave for 15 second intervals, taking the mixture out and stirring until creamy and fully combined.
3. Add garlic salt, garlic powder and Italian seasoning to cream cheese mixture.
4. Spread mixture over top of each slice of bread and place on baking sheet.
5. Bake at 300 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
6. Remove from oven and sprinkle a layer of shredded cheese over top of bread slices.
7. Return to oven and when cheese has melted after approximately 7-10 minutes, turn broiler on and lightly brown the top of the cheese.
